On 16th December, Victory Day, all the students of schools, colleges, madrasas, universities and medical colleges of Bangladesh came to the memorial with flowers. Every school-college-university cultural program and competition is organized. Prayers were offered and tributes were paid for the forgiveness of the souls of the martyrs. The Government of Bangladesh declared Victory Day as a public holiday and a national day.
